I have to tell everyone about the craziest and most vivid dream I have ever had.
This is what happened (in my head):
It was all about this quest to make it to the car (the prius) ...so both of us have to water ski behind this boat that is going really fast except we are not skiing on top of water...we were skiing on top of alligators backs. So it was really bumpy and we couldn't fall or we would be eaten. And I was afraid on would pop up and bite my leg off. So we finally make it on to shore and get to the car but Gerald had left the windows slightly cracked. And somehow a HUGE black and white great dane had managed to get into the passenger's side and was just sitting there. And on my side, there was a big wet stinky seal. We were kind of scared to open the doors at first but we decided they looked friendly enough so we opened the doors and shewed them out.
The weirdest part is once we get in the car we have a very calm discussion about how we are going to get the smell of the stinky seal out. We didn't even talk about skiing on top of alligators...like that was a normal way to get to the car. Interpretations please.

I don't know but that's pretty funny. Maybe law school seems like a bumpy alligator road that could be out to get you and bite you in the arse, but you guys are gliding fine without any worries because Gerald is aceing his classes. The stinky seal- that one's harder. Especially since you said the seal was stinky and not the dog. That was one vivid dream! What did you eat before bed?!
I just finished watching the Transformers movie. This was perfect timing for me to read because I can picture your dream like the movie! I think it means that you and Gerald are in rough waters right now, but you know that you'll make it through together, and all you will have left of this stress is a foul stinch that can be easily cleaned out with some "mind soap".
What the *@!
Dear, dear Paige. After this insight to you psyche, I don't think we can be friends anymore. You're CRA-SEE (pronounce in a gay male voice)
J/K Maybe the added expense of the new car has become scary, but neither of you have acknowledged to the other that it has caused added stress. It's an obvious issue, but you're choosing to ignore it. And the Stinky Seal? The citrus scent the car dealer added.
Okay here is my take on your dream:
The Prius represents your future and your goals (consider that the vehicle is a goal you wanted to obtain; it is the car you will drive in the future to your various goals and where you want to move; and is, in fact, a “futuristic” vehicle).
The water skiing on alligators represents that precarious path to your future and goals which is coming by way of your time in Louisiana (alligators and water skiing are both freely associated with Louisiana and are obviously a mix of fun and danger). The danger is, of course, that you feel could get stuck in certain parts of Louisiana or Louisiana in general and at certain jobs, lifestyle, etc. here and not go and do what you really wanted to do or be where you really wanted to be.
Now that Gerald is almost done with law school you are on the brink of the transition to your future and new life. However, Gerald left a crack in the windows, which allowed a large great dane and a stinky seal to get in. I assume it is fair to say that Gerald and his going to law school are the reason you are here in Louisiana. The large great dane is a dog which is, and represents, man’s best friend. In this case, the great dane would appear to represent friends in general. Making friends may have been intimidating here at first, but because of your time here and networking via Gerald, work, church, etc. you now have a large assortment of friends- friends you never would have made had he not come to law school here.
The seal is a silly and stinky animal known for its “performance” at circuses, sea world, the zoo, etc. The seal thus represents work. Work is sometime silly and tedious and involves things akin to having to balance a ball on your nose, for example. Work always stinks. However, as you contemplate your future here in Louisiana you may be coming to peace with it as you now have a nice assortment of friends and your work, which even if it stinks in many ways, is still tolerable and may get better if you can get the “stink” out it. Or as Lexi suggested, it could just mean you had too much sugar before bed. Hope this helps.
